Works Great, 4/4/2009

My dogs were a little scared of the sound, but they endured it and it worked fabulously. I was able to get the nails much shorter than with standard pet nail clippers. Their nails didnt click on the floor and there was no accidental cutting of the qwik.

Poor instructions, 12/18/2008

I would love to be able to use my brand new Oster nail groomer. However, so far, I've been unable to get one of the grinding tools to "lock" in the mechanism. Therefore, it would be unsafe for me to turn it on. I'll keep trying. I thought I had it lock once, but then I decided to start with the grit tool. Couldn't get it to lock at all. I'd definitely appreciate more complete written directions with the product.

My 7 Dogs Like It, 8/30/2008

I have dogs from whippets to 2 large German Shepherds, and they all took to it very well first time, even the prima donnas. Some nearly dozed off during! I like the variable speed, it's quieter than expected. Their nails were way overgrown, so I did clip the major part down first. The thing to do is keep them up now with this grinder. No more rough edges afterward. Instructions were lacking! Did not tell how to replace a band (don't need to yet tho) or give technique tips. I used the grinding stone for the most part, not the sandpaper bands. Accidentally went too a wee bit too far down on one underside and it bled a little, but no complaints; she did not appear to notice (styptic powder took care of it). The Amazon reviews on this were overall very good, and I agree. Oster makes good products, as opposed to TV knockoffs, you never know with those.

Oster grinder, 8/8/2007

If you have small dogs this probably would work. Not enough power for any nails of substance.....takes too long to even get a little bit off. Ill be buying a larger model by Dremel.
