I too found that these clippers got hot pretty quick. They are my first set of pet clippers, so I have nothing to compare it to. I did find was that the product is very well made. We bought these to trim our avalanche dogs paws and feathers so they dont get too many snow balls stuck to them when working. We dont use them for extended periods of time, so overall we are pretty satisfied.

These get too hot too fast. I am disapointed. We were only using these for less then 10 min on a clean dog. I am not satisfied.

I have tried the cheaper trimmers and could never get the trimmers to cut the hair. This one is very nice. I have 7 maltese and keep the trimmer very busy and havent had any problems.

The oster clippers get too hot and they are too noisy. They are also bad if you have any bit of wrist troubles. They are hard to hang on to because of the shape and they are heavy. I personally use an andis its light weight, quiet, it can run forever without getting hot also the company is great.

These clippers are by far my favorite all around clipper. I have the double K - blades heat up to quickly and the cable is awkward. The Laube with battery pack, doesn‘t make great connection and I should have sent them back. I have 4 2 speeds and 2 single speeds, Love them all. Add a clipper vac to them and you are all set. I have been doing this for 20 years, you can‘t go wrong with an Oster.
